    Re: portraits in evening lights

Just a couple of quick thoughts. As Frog mentioned in your other thread, you rreally ned to either stop shooting INTO the Sun, or use a flash for fill light. Even with a fill flash when the lens starts getting perpendicular to the Sun, you're going to get the kind of flare seen in #2. If you love the background and want "that shot" return when the Sun is oposite the subject. With all female subjects ( but with heavier models especially) it's advantagiouss and much more flattering to shoot from 45-90 degree angle instead of straight on front or back as the hips are tthe widest part of the body and a straight onn shot just emphisizes that all the more (photo between the bungalows - pretty sure her butt does not appear that wide in real life) The photo laying in the grass is excellent, shooting from that position always gives the illusion that they are taller (if she were standing, shoot from the bottom up to achieve the same effect.) The lighting and contrast are wonderful in that shot. Hope this helps.
