Portrait of the Grafitti Artist as a Young Man

Hi all .. the second of today's posts, also from the forum day out. This is a grafitti artist - I have layered this one to try and give it a gritty/urban feel.

As always, any comments are appreciated.

    Cheers

Hi Mike, I like this image but it seems a little too contrasty but maybe that's what you intended.

I think the photo has a nice pop art pop to it. Is he a relative?

I remember this in the Viewfinder thread, but this seems to be cropped much more. I believe this is a shot of your shy interior decorator . . .
I agree it is very contrasty and perhaps saturated alot, but mostly I think I just prefer the full frame as posted in the other thread.

I believe you were after that ''saturated / contrasty '' view. The colors on the artist look like really ''rich pastels'' to me. The whole photo looks more like a painting...I like it..

Re: Portrait of the Grafitti Artist as a Young Man

    Thanks guys for looking

Yes, I was after a high-contrast, edgy look - seemed to me to suit an urban "feel". I will have to see how this prints up - it is the kind of thing I like to use in club competitions.

Don - no relation, I'm afraid. He was a real life grafitti artist. I am old enough now to just go up to guys like that and start chatting and get away with it - he didn't mind me snapping away after that.

    Cheers

Mike, looking back at your version on the Viewfinder thread I see that it has not been cropped, or very slight if any. for some reason I just got the impression from this version that it was alot tighter. It may be due to the size and saturation.
sorry for the false call on that.
