it looks... incredibly sketchy... and I half expect to boy to come crawling out of a well after his mother dumped him in there and left him for dead. Sorry, but this just screams The Ring, Silent Hill, etc. it's a cool shot though, and you did well with the editing, it just looks creepy.

    LOL great work then!
I rather like the effect and have seen it used by many people.
Did you use a dragon filter, portrait magic, coral painter or something like that for this?

    thanks!

i haven't used any filters, it's just a lot of different adjustment layers with different blending modes. and also a lot of dodge and burn

It looks like you used diffuse glow with the emphasis on black. It's a stunning effect, but I probably wouldn't hand out these in wallet size.

I just watched Silent Hill, so now it's even creepier. Make the eyes black if you want it even sketchier.

Well done. The image keeps one looking due to it's nature but also because of it's dynamic highlights and shadows making a very interesting overall aesthetic.

Good Lord! Well, so much for sleeping tonight!
I think this shot may a little too photoshopped for my tastes, simply because I enjoy a more straightforward image. But in terms of you using all your tools for the desired effect, you're spot on. Excellent work.

This is extremely disturbing and when I say extremely I mean it! I am not familiar with this kind of aesthetic/edit but for what it worths, I would say that you nailed it too given the strong and immediate impact that it had on me. The eyes are especially creepy. They are well "integrated" to his face so to speak but they also have an haunting (almost 3d) aspect.

So, to sum it up, I am impressed but I don't think that I would want this on my wall.... lol
