Willem, welcome! I spent 4 yearws shooting images for the Air Force at Soesterberg. Best tour of my 24 year Air Force career. Played ball for Quick, but I digress; the tonality is wonderful. I love strong black and white images. My question to you is: what is the main subject? The man, or his store? If it's him, I'd like to see him a bit more prominately in the image. Maybe bringing him out to right behind the plate and the framed picture. That's just me and how I look at portraits. So take it for whatever it's worth. Is this a digital image or film? Whatever, the tones are beautiful.
I think I would have had my subject in the foreground, probably behind that framed picture, and his hand on the vase or whatever it is to the subjects left. Creating a 3D feel.
As it is, everything is in focus, which I admire you for managing to do. But it's making the image appear flat if you know what I mean.
It also kinda looks like the guy has a handle embedded in his head and a spout coming out of his ear lol. (Sorry just saw the funny side of that).
On a positive note though, great lighting and great tones.
I think it's a perfectly good classic style portrait (man surrounded by things of his life). There is something wierd going on with his mouth--it seems bent funny. The mustache exaggerates that. Perhaps his pose could be improved.
I think this is a good subject but could have been framed better. Try and remember the the rule of thirds. Your subject is just to centered. Try and place his eyes in the upper third of the picture and maybe put the gentelman either on the left or right of the frame. There are many ways you could have framed it better...

I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..
I like your portraits and this again has an excellent tonal quality.
If I had taken it I would have got the gent to stand alongside the dresser so that it didn't seem to cut through his head if that makes sense.
Interesting shop and I do like the work place theme.
