I like your composition though those clouds won't always be there.
I think it is a little oversaturated and if they were my kids, I'd want there eyes open and not squinting.

I'm like convinced these are photoshopped? In which case the clouds will always be available. The colors don't seem to blend correctly

Noticed this as well, it appears as if the cluds were taken as much as 3 hours earlier when the sun was higher in the sky (maybe not, but it looks that way).

I do like both of these very much though. whatever you are using as a fill, keep using it, it's working great. The comosition is also spot-on; enough to fill the frame without becoming overbearing or unbalanced. nice work on both shots

Sorry to disapoint but these are not photoshoped, i don't even own photoshop, I figured my exposure for the clouds and used a flash to highlight the subject (my kids in this case). You can tell this by the slightly over exposed rock in the picture and the darker rock behind my dauther portrait 2. i used nikon nx2 to do some minor corections but that is all.

thanks frog for your coments, i do agree wtih the squinting!

    as always thanks!

Wonderful shot, but the skin tone is oversaturated and too orange.

great composition and use of fill. maybe a bit too much saturation as already stated, otherwise a great image. The squinting is a little distracting, but not too bad.
