    Pool Model

I took this a few weeks ago here in San Diego. The model was very experienced and was great to work with. This one is slightly manipulated to clear up a few distractions.. C&Cs welcome.

Beautiful model, but something is bothering me with it, And I think it has something to do with the eyes, they seem a tad bit too dark.
But other than this looks good.

I've noticed that you don't mind having your picture edited, so I think I better show you what I think :

    Pool Model-img_0279-edit2_px800-edited.jpg

Somehow I find the skin looks a bit pink and so I did some color adjustment. I have to say I'm not sure I've succeeded in that regard though. Then I also find the eyes too dark and so I brightened the eyes and added some contrast there. I also "dimmed" the upper right hand corner of the photo a bit and, apparently, I cropped it, too

    My $0.02.

Between GB1 and AgingEyes, you did good. A good shot made better with a little tweaking.

Another good one, GB. I was gonna say I hope you don't mind if I tried a thing or two, but I see that AE already did anyway, so...

I love what AE did with the skin tone and the overall lightening to bring out the eyes, btw. Excellent.

Dray, LOVE your edit, the skin is looking fantastic (I think I would have left the negative space at the top though). I do think the original lipstick color works much better though, as it seems to have gotten washed out along the way.

Thks everyone. I agree - the eyes are too dark. Since they're where people look first (well, usually ..), they should be clear and well lit. Both edits here are much superior in that respect.

AE - I like your edit and totally agree on the pinkish skin issue. Yours is a little less so but I think it needs to have even less pink. I like the dimming and the eyes look a lot, lot better. Not sure about the crop: this is always a hard thing though, almost a mental block, to crop a model's arms or legs because it has the potential to really hurt the photo. But sometimes it has to be done. They say to avoid cropping at the joint or it will look like an amputation, BUT .. I have seen photographers do it and make it work. That being said, I feel that the bottom part of her is a good thing but that for whatever reason she doesn't look that sexy down there in this photo: just one of those unflattering angles that can happen if you're not careful what you're shooting. Ahh...

Dray, it's funny because when I viewed your edit on my Palm pre it looked spectacular but here at home with full NEC monitor is looks washed out. One of them is obviously off! I do like the moderate skin smoothing you did. I am with Jim that the neg space is probably better than the top cropping, but I like both versions of the lips. The eyes look even better.

Ps Jet - I don't think my cloning isn't as good as the ones you fellows did on the PP forum, but I'm learning

    Tks too Jon and Icicle.

That's why I wasn't sure I had succeeded in getting rid of the pink. I think you're the best person to judge the result and make the proper adjustment since you were there, you saw her. I did not. And some people do have skin that look more pink/red than other people's.

That is THE reason I cropped it.

The eyes are important and they should look good. We do that eye-job even to birds and animals' photos.
