i like the perspective of the shot but it just seems like it needs something mabey if the cloth was in color the green would make the ball pop out more. just my view. but i like the look
o yea id comment your zippo picture but for some reason the picture dosn't load you should check that out
It is a sufficiently well executed photo (I almost said "shot", but that would be ambiguous), and it is a nice picture of the 8-ball... but, personally I'd rather see someone aiming the cue with his/her hand, or is it just an equipment shot? And, by the way, why is the cue aiming at the 8-ball? Instead of the cue ball? But I agree with J-Dogg that if the cloth were in color, and the ball in B&W, it would be much more interesting.

Has He Lost His Mind? I think you should play around with this shot more. It seems like a snapshot right now, not a refined shot.
Indeed...it does not feel like more than that because of the flash (IMHO) and i think that getting any other light source close enough might have given it a better mood...
Rocket_Scientist It is a sufficiently well executed photo (I almost said "shot", but that would be ambiguous), - HAHAHAHAH......
Pool "photos" are always nice and fun to play around with... i say just get yourself a good light source...could be anything really..... and fool around with it...

Kindly do NOT edit my photos - I would rather try and apply your advice and learn...
I like this shot in B&W but it would also work in colour.
I have never really done sports photography but one thing that may make this better is if the que had movement blur to it, as if its about to strike. So slow shutter and get someone to almost hit the ball with the que. Tripod or somehting to hold the camera still will be essential.
The shadow does not bother me as I would be expecting it on a real table.
