    A plethora of orchids

Tried a little different processing on this one due to the unusual composition. Thoughts?

I feel like it may be a little over-processed, but like it overall.

    Re: A plethora of orchids

I like the front flowers but I'm not liking the uniformity of color throughout the fore and back ground. Doesn't allow the focused flowers to stand out.

    Re: A plethora of orchids

i guess it is over processed....but, I like it!

It looks electric....like it is glowing... maybe excentric is a better word!

I can see this in a very high-end designer store...and going in an ultra modern dining room, like an all black and white, with this being a pop of color. That would be cool!

    Re: A plethora of orchids

The background distracts me,If there was a dark backdrop with smooth dreamy bokeh the electic glow of these detailed beauties would really pop.Is there a way to do that? Your post editing skills are quite good Jet'

    Re: A plethora of orchids

Ahh, controversy, now I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track
I will try splitting out the background and either darkening, desaturating, or hue shifting.

    Re: A plethora of orchids

I like the electric look in the foreground that Steph pointed out and I agree with Rick that the background needs some work in being less attention grabbing. But where did you find that plethora of orchids together like that --- and all of them so beautiful --- WOW!!!

Thank you for sharing this one with us.

I LOVE the colors, composition, and effect. Reminds me of ribbon candy. Great stuff, jet.

    Re: New backgrounds

OK I've played with these a bit. Simply darkening the background does not work, at all. These are a few options I liked, but not sure if I like them any more than the original...opinions?
    1)desaturated
    2)yellow colorized
    3)green colorized

    Re: A plethora of orchids

Definitely the first, desaturated one. It looks vaguely Ortonised, but not too much. The other two are a little "in yer face" for my taste. That first one is lovely though.

    Re: A plethora of orchids

Somewhere between the first in the thread and the first in the second series for me. I don't care for the others as much.

    Re: A plethora of orchids

Thanks, both of you, I posted these new ones in the order I liked them best, so you've both sort of confirmed my intuition Dray I did save the layered version so I'll give a try to backing off the opacity of the desaturated portion and see how that works.
