    Pleasing?

    Hi,
I took this photo earlier today. For some reason I find it very pleasing, I don't know why. I've modified the colours in PS and adjusted the contrast slightly. I was wondering what you guys think? I'm worried it's just me and that this image is nothing more than a snapshot. Anyhoo...

Please don't feel the need to be nice, I'd just like your opinion and I will not be offended!

    Cheers,
    Chris

At this point in time, I will give you the least technical feedback since I am very new at this, but I think it's a kewl shot. I'm just about ready for a stringbean salad !

I like it - I am a sucker for patterns. Try splitting it to RGB. I like the red channel.

Woa, speedy replies! Thanks very much I'm glad you both like it, I was worried for a second.

Chunk, the red channel is very good. I do like the overall affect, the colour just works for me.

Thanks for the comments, keep them coming. Any improvements I could make?

Hi there! I am not really sure why I like this picture, but I find it very appealing. The color, the texture, composition... everything, I guess! And it definitely makes me feel like having some string beans! Very cool shot.

I love food shots...I think there is something definitely pleasing to this image...I like the color (and red channel vesion) and I like the concept I just wish the string beans in the foreground were in sharper focus.....even as it is it o.k---. but I think it has potential to be GREAT...if they haven't been consumed then maybe a re shoot?...just my 2 cents

This is pleasing, no doubt. The soft greens and the lines with a couple of the stringbeans crossing diagonally works well. simple and effective. Good frame up, just would say it could have been sharper, as Natalie stated.

Gutted. We ate them the same night. I have a tripod now, so if a similar opportunity presents itself I'll do my best to recapture it.

Thanks for all the comments; I agree with them all!

    Re: Pleasing?

I like this photo except there is one bean that is way too distracting. Looks like the "cut end" of a green bean. BTW, you should "break" the beans instead of cutting them.

    Re: Pleasing?

Very tasty photo - for some reasons I always find it so hard to take pictures of food, at least I never manage to make it look so tasty! The composition is great as the colors it just needs a sharper focus and that "cut off" bean is a bit distracting. Congratulations on your tripod - it makes all the pics so much sharper.

Yes its good but to me the winner here is that you saw an opportunity and went for it while the family starved.lol

    Re: Pleasing?

Thanks all for the replies. I agree with you Bill, I was suprised noone pointed this out before as it was the main thing that bothered me in this image.

bobbythebandit, I'm not the head of the family, I'm still a parasite on the parents while I'm at university! Funny comment though, cheers
