    My turn!

Great to see you here Liz!
The placement of the horizon is good.
And so are the birds, but the last two kind of cover the sail of the one boat.
I can't decide if it could use a bit more or less of the shore.
I don't think this is one of your strongest photographs Liz.
Don't be a stranger! Thanks for posting!

I love the colors and designs in the clouds. And I agree with Brian about the birds. Do you have any others taken from this location?

    Cheers,

LOOKS GOOD 2 ME! rule of thirds, framed well, angle is great, includes enough elements to keep you interested, position of all but lowest gull is appealing, exposure!

ok, i must bring that smile back to normal.....

dark area in foreground is the negative ;-)

    Hi, Liz:
I like this shot for all the reasons mentioned by paulnj. I would have "stamped" out the two leading birds, tried the dodge tool on the dark rock in the foreground to bring out just a little bit of detail. Oh, and there are two white dots just below the middle birds that are a bit distracting, as well. The clone stamp would quickly dispatch those.

Just nit-picky stuff, 'cause I really like the shot.

    Cool Thanks Everyone! I usually

would reply to each one of you, but I'm late leaving here today, and will be in NYC tomorrow.

However, I appreciate your critique - each one complemented the other. I'm going to try your suggestions. Maybe I'll repost a revision! I've tried a lot of things to improve this image, but your suggestions are good - now I can separate the things that really need changed, and get rid of some of my subjectivity.......and/or negativity!

    Thanks again.

    Good Work

Other than the two birds covering the sails, I like this one. The small amount of rock in the the foreground works for me; it makes it seem as if I am standing there myself.

    Cool Thanks Michael......btw

I really like your avatar! I used one of my photos. I still haven't been able to upload one from the internet avatar sites.

thanks for the comments. I like this photo too, and it's frustrating because I can't get it to where I want it. You know the feeling!

Liz, to get an avatar from avatar sites, you right click on the avatar and save it to your hard disk. Then you upload it to your user profile from your hard drive.

    Thanks Peter.....for all your help

    Peter,

I really appreciate all you do, even if I don't always say it!

I'm going to try one of them. I actually like them. Do you have any links? I clicked into quite a few web sites from google, but didn't get any I liked.

    Thanks

    Liz
