    Playing the piano

I received the Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 lens couple days ago and I finally had a chance to play with it today. It is a great lens. The auto-focus is fast.

Here is one of my son. It is taken at F/2.8 with a flash bouncing off the ceiling. Suggestions are welcome.

Yeah. I noticed that also. I also thought the envelopes on the piano was a little distracting. But I do like the shot and I really love my new lens

I like the character and joy in the photo. It could be a little better technically, I think. At f/2.8 you may have trouble keeping both eyes in focus, as has happened here. If you shot the same photo at f/5.6, it would be perfect.

Your son is adorable! I especially like the hair that's sticking straight up like he put his finger in a light socket . The thing that REALLY keeps distracting me is the yellow on the envelope at the top of the photo.

I love it...I actually don't find much distracting me... His face draws everything in! Great Job!

Interesting point. I see what you are saying but I wanted a really shallow depth-of-field and I am not sure how to do that at F/5.6. Any thought? Thanks.

My wife and I always laugh at his hair; he inherited that from me He has couple toys that has the same hair style, so I am going to try to take some pictures of them and put them side by side.
