    Playing with my new 580II

    It was a big jump from the 430. I'm still not quite used to all the power it has, but jeeez, I'm loving this thing already.

    A good friend of mine was having a going away party because he was getting ready for boot camp so I came along with my camera to take some shots.


    The blanket shot, was in pretty much complete darkness. I was supprised to see the quality that came out of it.

    Great shots, boot camp? *sigh, looks like he should be in gym class....I love the second one but wish the top of his head was not cut off. Looks like you will do well with it

    Is that a golden retriever, or a golden retriever mix? I had a golden retriever/ irish setter mix that your photo reminded me of.

    The third works best for me, I like the angle that it was taken from, the stars but most of all, the expression in the eyes. I would lose the white object at the upper left of the frame and crop slightly from the bottom, great result, particularly if taken in such dark conditions.
