    Playing with Lensbaby

I purchased Lensbaby today and this is one of the images that is somewhat presentable. I could use some suggestions. Do I need a different aperture ring for this kind of subject in order to make it sharper? And whatever else you might have to offer.
Feel free to comment on any aspect, but I am looking something specific to Lensbaby, if possible.

It doesn't really look like a lensbaby shot to me. Isn't parts of the photo suppose to be out of focus? Kinda like these.

Thanks for the link. You are correct, thats part of the problem with this shot, though I thought the slight blurring of the shadow and background enhanced what I was working with.

    Re: Playing with Lensbaby

Once you mentioned what was blurred I saw what you were going for, and I think it's certainly different from what we expect to see from a lb shot. It's certainly a different use for the lens, but the subtly kind of defeats the purpose. Now if you had something in the background for the selective focus to really show it's self I think that'd be a different story. If you're using the double glass, you're going to get tack sharp, but it depends on your eye, and you might need to toy with your diopter if your not getting the best results. The ap rings really only control the amount of light, and the size of the sweet spot/intensity of effect if you're using the single glass or plastic optic. Good to see another lens baby user here!
