    Plant Hammond at Dusk

I have been looking at doing this one for awhile. I just never found an angle I liked until yesterday. Security at this plant seems pretty tight compared to Plant Bowen. But what do yo think?

Love the color of the sky and the hint of mountains beyond. It would be nice to see a little more of the plant where the hill in the foreground is now, but no sense getting arrested trying to improve a shot.

Thank Jetrim, The angle I really want would require some trespassing. LOL I am still thinking it over.

    Greg,

This could be my monitor but to me it looks like it needs some contrast in the foreground. Is this a coal fired station?

    I like the composition though.

Thanks Roger. I will check into the contrast. I know you and your monitor stays calibrated to a tee. I trust it. Yes this is a coal burner. The stack on the left with the steam coming out is new and the others have been abandoned. I wish I had taken pictures of it going up. I pass this plant fairly often. thanks for the help.

Greg .. I can see some gradations in the sky - I am presuming that these are due to resizing for the web and that the original shows smooth transitions of colour? Assuming so, this is a very nice shot - a different take on a landscape. It would be worth, I think, playing with the hills in the background to emphasise the lovely recession in tones between the nearer and the farther hills.

    Cheers

Yes Mike the original is much smoother than this. The idea on the hills is an excellent idea. I may see if I can bring out the layers of mist more. It really doesn't show well here. Thanks for the great suggestion.

This is an effective shot. The look here is very industrial and goes with the subject. I like the hazy atmosphere and the hint of landscape and nature in the distance.
The red sky , especially at the top caps the mood and feel.
    I like this .

Greg - I like it. I think it could use a slight clockwise twist to make the plant on level ground. I'd also like to see a slightly upped contrast in the foreground, making the ground slightly more pronounced.

Thanks Gary, Thanks Anbesol. I am still playing with it. I have since added a contrast layer and I agree the foreground needs a slight boost.
