Re: Pinned to wood...
I like this one very much. Great counterbalance between the smooth pin and the rough wood (or sawdust) and the colors are very complimentary. I like the chosen DoF as well, enough, but not too much.

Hi Alex,
I pretty much agree with Jetrim :) However, my eye keeps wanting to place the pin further to the left?

Very cool. Love the focus points. Might be also cool without the shawdow of the pin?

Re: Pinned to wood...
I like the composition. The sharp focus of the pin (no pun intended) is great and I like the bright red against the light brown wood. You could experiment with different lighting, but I think this works well. Nice shot.

Thanks, Mette. I agree with you about the cropping angle.

Re: Pinned to wood...
Alex - Nice and sharp, good texture, and well executed. I think it works well, though I would prefer that the tack be in the lower part of the image and that perhaps the subject was more symbolic (maybe it is, but I just don't get it :) ).

I like it the way it is. Grabs my attention right away. The shadow is a deal cincher.
