I like the nice sharp bloom and the slightly out of focus bud. The image seems quite flat which is ok if you want a kinda dreamier feel but I think it looks better with more contrast. In this example I did a levels adjustment to get some darks and lights in there and a little cropping to get the subject off center and remove some unneeded (I thought) background.
    Nice work, keep 'em coming.

Thanks Chuck! The dreamy feel of the original image is closer to how the actual slide looks (possibly due to the film?), which I quite like; but your image is also good in a different way - it certainly grabs one's attention. Thanks for your cropping advice; this is usually one of my main weaknesses!

I have a few other nice (IMHO) images from that roll of film (my first ever of slide film), but none really suitable for posting here. My second roll is due back on Wednesday, so hopefully I'll be able to "keep 'em coming"!

Nice shot, maybe a tighter crop and a tad more contrast. The bud in the back is very distracting. A slight angle change where it wasn’t popping out of the petal might help. Also there is a hi-lite on the bud at a tangent with the petal. That hi-lite may be one of the brightest areas in the pic and my eye goes right to it. OMC there appears to be a blue tint.

Nice macro shot! I can feel Spring right around the corner now! (It's currently 22 degrees F)
