    Pier Walking

Working with fill-flash. What do you think about this one?

Too much fill, it's very noticeable that you used flash here. Fill flash looks best when it illuminates without looking like flash.

I like it. One suggestion I would make however, is that when using fill flash to give the foreground more detail at sunset, set the colour balance to warm up the colour from the flash to match the light from the sunset so that it appears less "cold" (blue) and more natural (orange tone).

Thanks for the comments. One other thing, would it be better to take the UV filter off or leave it on?

It doesn't matter. The UV filter is little, if any noticeable effect on colour in this kind of scene.
