Pier Reflections

I'm having alot of fun shooting way out of my comfort zone.

Now, although I am way out of my comfort zone my thoughts on this are that there is a little that needs to be cropped from the left because of all the blank space under the pier? Am I correct?

I disagree, the full image looks fine to me.
Everything leads to the subject, the end of the pier.
Yes everything.
By its triangular shape even that darkness under the pier.
Then the blsck on the right and top stops the eye at the subject.

Alison, it looks like your comfort zone is getting wider.
I think I would change the crop to eliminate some of the blackness after the pier. JMHO, of course.

I vote a little on right..play around with a little on top. ...not left.

alison, the reflections under the pier are very appealing and make a strong subject. i like the photo as is but also feel a crop could improve this. As john and jkriminger suggested, i would crop off the right (not completely eliminating the black space) and off the top enough to keep your original aspect ratio.
