Pictures from today, one of myself and another.

I took this one using my tripod and 10 second timer.

And I took this one too.

    I like input!

With the first one...way too much tree IMO. Crop off a large portion of the top. I love the colors however and if you did that via timer, good job..those can be tough.

I love the second one minus the hot spot on the waterfall. Beautiful textures, nice colors, and a great subject, but that one spot is where I keep on looking.

    Great shots though,

    Jared

Bottom shot-----lovely setting. Aside from the hot spot on the falls, my problem is with the branches coming from the left side of the shot. They intrude into the scene too much, but considering it's not kosher to saw down the tree.....
Top shot----excellent timing. I kind of like your crop, too.
    Nice work

I didn't notice that spot in the falls, but I see it now. I'm not sure if I could edit that. There was a lot of filtered sunlight through the trees. Also, that branch really bothers me too, or else I would have taken that shot a long time ago. I just decided to do it today because all of the other views have been done already.

On the first shot I kinda like how the trees tower over me, gives it an effect maybe? And yes, the timer was tough to work with.... that picture was the first attempt and the best shot I got of that one.

Your landscape is very nice - a wonderful composition. It seems a bit over exposed to me - did you use automatic exposure? Darker places need either exposure compensation or manual exposures to get them to feel right. I often use exposure bracketing in a situation like this.

I'd love to see some more detailed shots of the moss and ferns with the arches in the bridge design. I alsolike a square crop of the right side of this pic which shift this from being a shot of the bridge to a shot of the waterfall.

Is this setting easily available to you? I'd suggest shooting it at various times and lighting conditions.

That bridge is about 2-3miles from my house, I can go anytime. I'll post others tonight that I took on the same day.

I understand what you were trying to accomplish with the top one. I like it with the trees.

I think you did great working with the self timer. How many did you take that way? Personally, I have a hard time just getting into a family group shot and smiling before the timer times out

I love the top shot with the trees. I think it really strengthens the picture. Where are you located as I mountain bike also?

I live in Bellinham, Washington, so if you ever come this way there is some great riding to be done.

I think I only took two pictures with the timer, and that one turned out best.
