well I've been going to this photo class to learn a bit more about what I don't already know. We went out to take pictures during the class and it was raining let me know what you think.

I LOVE the second image! The others are nice, the first could use a little no post op work to remove some rain? that got on the lens? But the second is my favorite.

On the first, It's the lines that grab me. The subtle gradation from the sand to the water to the sky is very appealing. You've balanced the various elements so well. I would, however, clone out the gulls.

On the second, it's the triangle formed by the water that draws me in. Then it's all the straight edges played off against the rolled arms of the benches. I do find it a bit murky, like the image is short changed where the highlights are concerned. And that thing behind the benches ruins the lines for me. But it's still a great image.

The third doesn't do it for me. But I think because it's not as moody as the other two.

thanks for the comments. I was going for the line kind of thing. I see what you mean by the white stripes behind the benches in the second and the seagulls I'll try and clone them out. As for the raindrops on my lense I didn't even notice them in the pictures until now hahaha I'll fix those up too.

The first and second are very nice. The second one, I can almost smell the saltwater (if that's what it is and not the great lakes) and hear the rain. It's simplicity lets one's mind fill in the blanks. The top shot's a little lonely and also leaves it up to the viewer to decide what is missing or what is symbolized.

In all, I like the mystery of the shots here. Too bad more Hollywood movies dont subscribe to this philosophy, btw.

The second is the best composition wise but the green tone does not work and seems problematic, even if it is natural. I would experiment with the colour of either the benches, water or sky to try and get a little more punch out of the photo.

love that second image...reminds me of a similar image I used to create this one

I love how you have no idea of their orientation on the ground nice angle...

Slacker - You won't see too much rain here in San Diego, but there should be some great foggy mornings for photography along the coast.
