    Pictures from last night

So I backpacked into the La Sal mountains last night, only 2 hours, but just to get away from the heat and the house. so these are some of the pics i like the best.

    Mushroom's house

this one will go in the nature forums to as i have no id.

flowers, the meadows were full of these (but apparently peak was last week)

And finally the sunset that i was waiting for. the clouds below the sun in this pic blocked it at the very lowest but this one was an early one and i like it the best.

as always comments appreciated, thanks for looking and helping out.

humm maybe next time i should lessen them more than to 1000 per side. what does everyone else use? i can see these all at once on my monitor, but they take up the full screen.

Those flower shots are very nice, I really enjoy the color, and placement of objects. Of the two, the purple is my fav.

very nice shots dylan! i especially like the purple flowers and the sunset. about the size, I usually scale them down to 640 because I'm pretty sure that's the limit anyway. very nice job!

i did try to minimize them in the edit thing (click and drag the corner to make it smaller) to and they didn't get any smaller. from now on they will be 640 :-)

How are you trying to re-size these?
If you don't have adobe you can get yourself Irfanview for FREE from download.com.
Click image > re-size and make the largest side 640.

    Gorgeous pictures Dylan!
Those blue flowers are fantastic. They remind me of fireworks.
And that sunset is gorgeous too. I love the composition of that one. The sun and tree filling each of the top corners and the silhouette's down the bottom frame the image nicely.
    Great job!

    Re: Pictures from last night

thanks alison, at first i though the trees were going to be in the way, and then once the sun started to drop lower i realized it was going to be nice. yeah i can make them 640 in the program i used, i just didn't know how small they should be, and then i tried to resize them again ( if you edit your post it shows the picture and you can click and drag it smaller) but that didn't seem to work. from now on my images will be 640.

oh and i asked the insect "experts" well my boss at work who does alot of insect identification and he didn't know what those were exactly, but he had seen them before. (they send most of the stuff off to real specialists to calssify it to species)

    Re: Pictures from last night

I like all of the photos but the sunset and the purple flowers are my favorite. Love how you captured the sun as I can't tell if it's behind the clouds or in front. And I love the framing on all of them. After looking at your photos I'm always inspired to go shoot some nature stuff. The only thing is that I'm moving this month and I've been spending a lot of time preparing for that. Dosen't leave much time for shooting. : - (

    Re: Pictures from last night

well thanks devin. thats about all i shoot is nature so...

and the sun was half behind the clouds. i wasn;t actually sure about the sun in this picture becuase its just kind of a big blob with no real definition. but i think the trees add enough interest.

    good luck with the move.

I like the purple flowers. I like the way you framed them. Great colors too.
