    Pickin' in the park...

Not sure if the chord was intentional or happenstance. :-)

Please be brutal. I did not have my tripod (cycling), but leaned the camera against the closest tree for support. Converted raw posted below.

    EF28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM @ 105 mm
ISO 1600 (not intentional - rookie mistake)
    F4.5 1/3200Sec.

    Re: Pickin' in the park...

Composition on the first one is ok, I might crop it so that the man is just slightly more left and down but watch the toes! I'm not sure that the empty space on the left in the second one does anything for me because of telephoto compression. I'd shoot it wide and close, same composition.

The BW conversion doesn't have a lot of punch but that's just a matter of adjustment. These are also very soft for being shot at 1/3200s - either the high ISO or low F-stop have robbed them of sharpness.

    Just my opinions!

Its ok but with that bright background there is not enough exposure on the subject.
I think fill flash would have helped here.

I like the first one. Could use a little contrast though (but be sure to dodge the face so it doesnt get too dark).

Had to look up 'dodge'. I will be getting into Elements with a class later this month.

I really appreciate all comments. I am slowly beginning to be able to just see what you are talking about. Then I have to remember it when shooting. Slow process.
