Photo of the week in the Gallery idea

Here is how it looks flipped horizontal, anyone else think it looks better like I do? Am I crazy?

    Just a thought,

Congrats on the featured photo. I like the flipped version better also. I think the leading lines in the photo are more "natural". The lines in the flipped version lead my eye from left to right, as if I was reading, and I think that makes it easier for me to look at.

    Micheal,

This is PWEB's photo from the Forum photo of the week fyi

Glad you agree with me on it, I had suggested this to him and posted the example for him so others could see/comment too. I have learned personally much from this website and people helping me, so its time I try to give back.

Re: Photo of the week in the Gallery idea

Thank you for the idea of flipping it horizontally, Carl, and I see what you and Michael mean about the lines flowing more naturally from left to right. My editing skills aren't quite that advanced yet, but I'll look into how this is done.

Btw, it's fine with me if people on the site do something with my pictures as long as it's all in the spirit of learning and sharing. The more feedback we get, the more we can learn.

    Glad to help

PhotoJohn has really helped me learn the importance of Post Processing. Although I don't over process (that is easy to do), every picture straight out of the camera is like a puzzle in a box. When you get a really good shot, you should always do your best to make sure and polish it up to its full potential. Interpretation is up to you, however I believe in getting the most natural look possible, or how the scene made me feel. It's worth it to play around a little with photoshop, if not, some of your shots are really missing out!

I work in IT so I read from left to right and do my math (Binary) from right to left. So it works for me either way.

Re: Photo of the week in the Gallery idea

Yeah, I've always done certain standard editing before posting--cropping, saturation, sharpening, etc. Now that I switched to Raw a couple of months ago, it's been great to play with WB and exposure. Reducing noise has been important, as well as clone stamping to get rid of little stuff. But it's time to add to my editing arsenal!
Keeping it very close to natural, with a little bit of change for how the moment felt, is also my top priority.
    Thanks again for the ideas...

I like the flipped version better too. And you better PP and make sure all of the bases are covered. The Eagle eyes in the critique forums don't miss much.
