    Pheobe

This cat IS in need of a home (horrible story if anyone is interested) but I had to go today and take pictures of her, and while I got some good "regular" shots, she was a good candidate for me to play with...... what do you think of this picture?

I would have liked to have had a little more left around the bottom right corner, but couldn't really help it..... Do you think it hurts the image?

Absolutely adorable. Love the way the yellow in the rug/blanket is picked in his eyes . It's a bit dark at the ears and there's a merge issue with the black stripe in the BG.

I don't mind the tightness at the bottom as his paws/legs aren't cut off and they offer nice balance in the composition IMO.

Did I mention this guy is way cute? You'll find a home for him quickly with this shot

Terrific capture, it tells me you should have taken her home with you. Very nice in deed. My cat just sleeps all day. S

    Re: Pheobe

She was a kitten that ran around my moms apartment complex....really no ones cat but friendly to everyone. My mom is not allowed to have more then one cat. One day she came up burned to a crisp(literally). A neighbor girl across the street had set her one fire - she is only 10-12 yrs old. The girl admitted it to many people but the cops said since no one saw it, nothing could be done.(Parents deny their daughter would ever do anything like that, even though she was in trouble for kicking a puppy multiple times... and CPS could care less) My mom snuck her in, got her all better and then she managed to sneak outside when my sister came home one day from school. She was missing for about a week.... then she came back burned again! My mom has finally gotten her all back to healthy and amazingly her fur came back in and you really can't tell she has been burnt. She is the SWEETEST cat. Only about 8 months old.... and for some unknown reason, doesn't hold a grudge against anyone. But my mom can't hide her forever, and she is afraid that if she gets out again, she may suffer the same horrible treatment again or worse......
I am 26 and don't live at home, but I am determined to find a good home for her where she will be safe.

    Re: Pheobe

Angie's hopping mad, wants to take in the kitty.
However sending kitty all the way across the Atlantic, and going through quarantine, isn't what Phoebe needs.
I talked her out of setting fire to the girl, it's not proven after all.

From a critique point of view, I think the focus is on her nose, not her eyes.
That's all I can think of on this.

Great shot. I also wish the eyes were sharper, but not too bad as is. Was this cat set afire? Looks OK to me..... maybe just a slight burn?

    Re: Pheobe

She was set on fire twice. The fur on her ears and her tail were both burned completely off. No one, including her vet, knows why her fur keeps growing back. But I am really glad.

While there is no video, there is no doubt that this little girl did it. She has been proven prior that she has abused animals and is in questioning about the death of another neighbors pet. My moms other cat refuses to go outside and is pretty safe but Pheobe wants to go in and out... and that is just not safe. My mom had another cat, a gorgeous black cat, that got out through a window screen(broke through it) and hasn't been seen since. All we can do is pray that someone stole him.... and hopefully gave him a better life. This little girl now has a restraining order to stay off the apt. complex property..... but any cats that venture off of it are in real danger from her.

Hmm. If it were a boy I think I'd know how to handle this.. But you have a delicate situation here. And her parents are part of the problem. Had a similar situation at my condo complex with a bad family that moved in. Had to hound the board to address it (which they never totally did). The main idiot kid ended up in jail at age 15.

I was afraid someone was going to ask to hear the story and then I was going to read it -- and I knew it was going to be bad -- oh, my heart is just breaking for the cat -- and for the kid, too.

Bless you a thousand times for doing something to help.

Aside from the fact that this kitty it SUPER cute I would like to say I think this is a very well-done photo. You captured the cat's curiosity very well and I like how the rest of her body is in soft focus
