    Re: The Performers

The individual expressions keep my eyes jumping from face to face and I have to wonder what those cameras are pointed at.
I think there's something going on between the boy on the right and the one with the violin and maybe the guitar boy too. The little girl seems oblivious and just has a beautiful smile for you.

    Re: The Performers

The color/tone has a 'look' to it that I cannot explain, but it 'looks' 50s or 60s. It really gives the feeling of the photography of my childhood. I guess I'm trying to say that I like it a lot (beyond being a great moment), but do not have the photographic knowledge to tell you why. Is this shot that old? Was it the film used during those decades that gave it the ‘look’? - TF

    Re: The Performers

The lady in the second row in the blue and white dress and the guy in the long-sleeved blue shirt sitting in the middle about the 4th row back --- the expressions on their faces crack me up!!! They are the epitome of "I hate waiting!" and, I can SO identify with them. :yesnod:

    Another winner Tuna!

Cheers me up, too. Classic image. The expressions couldn't be more perfect. The tones, etc. do look right out of the 50s or 60s. How did you get that look?

    When/where was this taken?

Just to add, I think it has that Life magazine look.

    Re: The Performers

From your comments, it appears I am not the only one who appreciates a smile in these times.

This was taken a few years back on Reala - I was a visitor to a church when a music school performance broke out. Luckily I had a camera. I tweaked the color range to establish this look. Trying it in B&W initially, I found it lost something so in color it became.

    Cheers,
    Tuna

Wow. That's just a great capture all around. It immediately reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting. Can't you see it on a cover of The Post?

I see what you mean. Perhaps the colours are not subtle enough and they lack smooth colour transition. Also, there is a dark area around each subject, which maybe due to over sharpening.
I wish to learn all you can teach me about photography!
