So, conceived in that fashion, the image stands on its own. I don't believe you are giving enough credit for my having "perceived" this shot (or as you critics often put it, "seen" the shot).
Danube - The "Perception" sign being there is nice, but personally I don't see it being a significant addition to the image. I would have to disagree with you that a strong subject would take away here. It could take away from a type of shot where the people walking by, indifferent to the surroundings, being in a hurry, (perhaps like a city scene) etc add a significant mood to the photograph. I'm just not getting that here.. it just seems to be missing something, imo. I'm not really sure when looking at it what the intent is? Maybe others do, though. The reflection is good btw.
