    Peek-a-boo

My first photo up for critique. Anything that could make it better? I have some that are zoomed out more, but it showed too much of dad's face and I didn't like it as much.

    Re: Peek-a-boo

It's a nice photo. Just enough shoulder of Dad, sky on the right is fine although this could be cropped from the right to an 8X10 and that would work fine. The only issue is the hat shading the light from the eyes. It would have been great to see some nicely lit eyes. Some slight fill flash on the camera would help this, but still a very nice moment

I was wondering about that shadowing. I just have the regular top flash on the camera, so there isn't much I can do there (is there? I think it is just all or none?).

    Thanks for the reply!

Yes, you can control the flash exposure compensation but you just have to go into the menu to get to it. You can set it down as much as -2 stops, or up as well

    Re: Peek-a-boo

Reminds me of a shot I took of my granddaughter last year.
Gary pretty much summed everything up. I just wanted to add that I looked and liked it.

I'll agree with Gary too just to make it unanimous until someone disagrees.
It is a very nice photo as is and if it was my kid I'd be saving it for sure.

Thanks everybody. I'll play around with the flash exposure compensation some so I'll be ready next time. Thanks again!

If you can sharpen up the image a bit so that the eyes are really sharp, you might be out of the woods. Nice composition, expression, and geometry of the hat et al.
