Re: The Patients Are Taking Over

great photo finish as Don mentioned. lovely environments you created here. but.. I think the expressions are over the top. I'll try to explain it by giving an analogy. I think to me a horror movie that has scary faces just isn't frightening enough. Once I see that stupid mask wearing dude I lose interest. The movies that frighten me the most are the ones that I don't see gorey stuff. The unseen is more frightening then the visible to me.

for these to work for me, I would've liked an element of the unseen. like maybe something poking from a corner or something like that. even a dark silhoutte peering from a dark open door. I hope u get what i'm saying.

i think here even the body poses are too exagerated.

this might have been a joke of a take and I keep that in mind, but i give my opinion on maybe future more serious takes.

edit: almost forgot to mention the first one is the stronger of the two for me. even though it has a little of the problems i explained above.

Re: The Patients Are Taking Over

The processing in both is unbelievable. How did you light the subjects?

Other than that, the first is more effective for the reason that the subject's posture and expression sells it.

The second image is fantastic, too, but the expressions on the subjects' faces diminish the impact for me.

I should add, once again, that you are one of the kings of this enviromental HDR stuff, as far as I'm concerned. Have no idea how you get such clean, crisp, vivid images.

Thanks for the info, V. Seems I was taking the second image too seriously, reading too much in, etc. I do like it, especially as a joking around type of shot.

Can't wait to see what you do with strobes in your bag of tricks.
