    Patience...

This was taken as a study of a fisherman as he patiently waited for something to swim allong and take his bait. The reflections were a bonus, as were the surroundings. Taken just after sunrise. May have gone for a less wide crop, but in the end settled for this, even though it's a busy scene, as the chap is looking to the left, so it makes sense to show the direction he is looking, and cropping any tighter either chops the boats or makes the shot too tight around the reflection of his line in the water. Hope you enjoy.

I dig it. The boats and the reflections not only add to the picture but it takes away focus from the fisherman.

Agreed, it is a a strong composition and I think that the fisherman's pose is particularly effective. I also think your crop has worked well. I just wish the fishing rod was a little more evident, I realise that isn't necessarily straightforward but it would help to highlight the fishing theme in the image.

I can see what you mean about the rod as it's a little thin. I was actually there taking another shot, which i'll post soon about a canalside sunrise and managed to pop back and grab this but did not have long. I may go back and get a more focussed tighter shot on the fisherman and his rod from another angle. Thanks for the reply and advice.
