The silhouette for me is the better of the two, as you said the two little details at the bottom cropped or cloned would be my only criticism

I, also, like the first and would also clone out the 'mechanical' looking things like the pipes and bolt. - Terry

Agreed as well, bummer though you didn't shoot it about half hour earlier, the sun around his head would be a lot better than around his pelvis. The thing I think is lacking in the second one is that the cross just comes into the frames with the clouds and has no ground, looks ungrounded. I think it would be a lot better with the ground there, even if it were just a little bit of ground.

I also like the first one much better

I'm surprised to see a Hebrew sign on a cross, it is the first time I see that combination, perhaps because I never been to Israel ..

Agree on all counts. Try and take out everything that is making it look modern. Very nice shot, though. As always.

I don't mind the modern stuff, the only thing that detracts for me is the position of the sun. Wish it was round his head.

Great pointers. I hadn't thought about shooting this type of shot when the sun was still high in the sky. I'll add that to my brain's info box next time i attempt a shot like this ;-)

Yeah, I see i gotta clone out more stuff on the first one. Thanks guys! appreciate it.
