    Park shot---opinions?

What do you all think of this? Does the background fit the picture?

I like the idea of this type of frame, but I don't think it's working here, maybe because the tones match the tones of the pic too much. I like the fg rocks on the left, but everything that could be a subject(bridge, bench, trees.) are all gouped together in the middle (vertical) of the frame and are about the same size. I would try a lower angle and include ground , rocks just in front of camera, exclude most of the sky and the opposite of that include more sky and moving right and left to work different angles and then see what comes of it.

I have to agree. There isn't really anywhere for my eyes to rest, and the frame blends too much with the rest of the image. In fact, IMO, it is hard to see past the frame.

Mark and payn.....I see what you mean. I was unsure about it when I put the two together, but wanted to see if it was just me or if anyone else thought it was a good match. I'll keep trying.

    John,

I thin this sort of frame would be better used for portraits rather than busy landscapes, especially if the inner could be made into an oval instead of square

I agree. It think it's too much for the eye to take in BOTH the frame and the subject. I'd love to see the shot without the frame. Looks like you have some great color behind there!

John, you have a really nice shot there. It just doesn't look right with that particular frame on it. It is really hard to distinguish where frame ends and parts of the image begin. I agree with D in that I would love to see the image w/o the frame. I think you have a really nice shot there.

That is a nice shot, john. I like the one with black on white the best. It's just easier for me to look at than the frame with soft edges.
