    Panorama

Tried some panorama shots today, used Panorama Maker 3 to put them together. I didn't use a tripod, but had the camera on manual to keep the settings. Used about 5 shots to put these together. Any thoughts?

    Re: Panorama

Look OK to me, & there are no visible stitching marks. I think the panoramas would work even better if there were more space on the top/bottom.

I like the reddish color of the leaves in the 1st one, and also the slope.

Very nice. I like the colors on the first one better.

Look good to me especially shooting hand held in what looks to be somewhat low light. You did a good job especially for first pano's

    Re: Panorama

Shootme, these are nice panoramas. Great subject for this technique and you did a good job, especially considering they're hand held. I prefer the first one for a few reasons. The trail leads the eye into the shot, and the colors are just better. The one thing I might change would be to trim a little off the right side to remove the hot spot caused by the bright background. Good job.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Next time I'll try with tripod. A.M.D.A. I agree with the top/bottom comment, maybe I was too close. Wen I look at my focal length,it was set a 18mm, but I was in the midst of all the trees.

For hand-held you did a remarkable job I think. Well worth taking the tripod out for another shot at it.

    Re: Panorama

shootme I have stitched a few Panos using the same software. I never used a tripod but used the focusing marks in the finder to line up the horizon, always with very good results. My mind just can't think in pano terms so I have never found that right subject. These are very good. I think in the first one you should have used the trail more to your advantage and some how made it more the subject. Nice job.

    Re: Panorama

Thanks for all the advice. I never thought about trying to use the same focal distance point as I take each shot, I'll have to go back and try a 3rd time. I did go back and used a tripod this time. This panorama comprises 9 shots, I take them tight together so the sticking hopefully turns out better? Anyway he's my 2nd attempt, same place, just not the exact spot. Took 3 frames off to the right to make the shot bigger in the second shot.

I really love the colours you are getting shootme. I never thought bout using the same focal distance point either. I'll have to give that a try and see how it goes.
