    Re: Palms

the first shot is great.....I guess the only thing that kinda bothers me are the trees on the right-hand top corner....if you could clone or crop that out, that may help . The lighting in the second pic kills it for me. Nice catch on the first photo.....

I like the atmosphere of number 1..I agree that the foreground palms out of focus need to go...looks like a lot of work though to get a natural finish.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Re: Palms

I like #2 the best but feel it needs a contrast and saturation boost also clone the houses. The blowing out parts of the sky is a little distracting on the first one.

    Re: Palms

Thanks for commenting fellows. I agree on # 1: it would look cleaner w/o the right side branches, but like you said Rod, that would take a heck of a lot of work and I don't know if I'd ever get it right!

Greg, not sure if that's the answer, but I've tried your suggestions except for the cloning which I can try later. To me, the colors seem Hawaiian. But I'm not sure why (maybe cause they are the same as sliced pineapple?). Here's the edit.

I agree. #1 Very nice. The stunning backdrop takes you there, the right side branches...in my opinion not a major distraction at all.

    Wonderful light,great catch GB1.

Thanks, Lori and Rick.. And to think it was taken at one of the nastiest places in California, the Salton Sea
