Pajama time!

I was playing around with the set up in my "studio" (5x7 feet if you don't count the unpacked boxes in the way) and my 5 year old asked me to take pictures of her. Who am I to say no? She was actually very accommodating for a change, and didn't make too many silly faces.

My biggest challenge was getting the white balance right, and I've been mucking around in the editor trying different things. All the files came out with a weird pinkish-yellow tinge.

Here are some variations. Despite their shortcomings, I'd like to hear what you all think of them as" portraits". Thanks!

1. Like the sharp eyes and the filled frame.
2. Head is too centered and I find my eyes searching for something in the top part of the frame because that is where the little gal is looking.
3. Nice expression, but I wish the eyes were sharp. I find myself distracted by where the backdrop and the carpet converge.

She is a cutie.

Very nice shots, a bit too much light on the first one for me, but for the rest great. S

I like the first one-a lot.

Lots of impact, I could even see adding to the tight format by cropping down to the top of her bangs. IMO the overexposed look works well here.

The second one doesn't look like anything to me.

I think the third has a cute pose but I don't care for the way your background ends at her feet.

Still; the first one is so good that any flaws in the other 2 don't matter at all.
