    Painful exposure

This was my most painful exposure ever. In the two minutes it took me to set up and take this shot I was nearly eaten alive by mosquitoes. This was this last Sunday Sept 21 at Salton Sea, CA.

I did get some revenge though. On the way out I drove through clouds of them so thick that it sounded like it was raining!

Cool long exposure effects.Nice sharp image with great color tones, balanced composition.Could I say you're a 1/2 mile out...What zoom? Security? Could you / did you get closer? I like the setting, would like more details. Just my thoughts

    Hi Rick,

I'd say we were about 1/4 mile out. This was taken at 70mm (on APS sized sensor). We could have certainly gotten closer, but we did not want to push our luck. This is one of 7 geothermal plants in the area, and this one is the one closest to the Salton Sea when driving down Sinclair Rd off Highway 111.
