    Overnight Bag

I took this a couple of weeks ago. I found this downtown as I was doing a little shooting. Apparantly left by a homeless person.

Not really working for me. I look at it and try to see the homeless person that might have left it and thier story but all I am seeing is a bag of trash.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Dan. I've come back to it several times, but I think it needs more of a connection. Right now, it's just trash in a corner of some building or something. Had there been more of a human connection (maybe a shoe, or a hat) or if it were next to a worn out chair or a tent. Something that made it more obvious. I think that the message would have come across.

    Re: Overnight Bag

Shooting that amounts to social commentary is like shooting an accident scene which I have done for the court. It is done for a purpose, but unless there is an extremely strong centre of interest that creates high impact, it does not make great photography. Even when it does, it has limited appeal to most viewers.
