One last to close the series....

Here is my last shot of the Distillery District. I am out in NYC for the week end. Happy Easter everyone!

I feel confident in saying that this is the best so far. There's clarity in the brickwork that I thought was absent from some of the earlier ones (oversharpening perhaps?) and the view through the window gives us a lovely warm orange glow; cosy inside and cold outside. All the colours, variation in the brickwork etc compliment each other so well. I like everything in the composition but might like to see a crop from the bottom; maybe a removal of the paving below the snow or maybe not.
It it were mine it would be on the wall.

Hey Seb, I have been checking out all of your Distillery shots but this is the first one I have commented on. I have to say, that the colors in all of your posts was great. The contrast between the red brick and the green windows and doors is a real eye catcher. This one is my favorite of them all tho. I really like the composition and the orange/yellow glow coming from the window is a nice accent for the rest of the colors IMO. Nice work on all of them.

Very nice compositon. I love the richness in tones and how you were able to bring out an interesting shot from just one small area of a building. Have fun in New York, my hometown!

Another good one. There is depth in this with the warm glow of light and the view of some of the inside through the window. Great colors, and an interesting comp. Great Series.

Hey everyone. As usual thank you very much for commenting. It's always a pleasure to read your comments/suggestions.

I might have one more shot of Toronto to share here (not the Distillery this time). Stay tuned.

Re: One last to close the series....

    Seb,
    Sorry for posting so late.
I like this shot a lot. For what others have posted, plus, I like the horizontal highlights on the fire escap. I like the large window balancing the two doors. I like the way the window frame frames the picture inside. I like the street included, gives depth.
I dont like the whatever is in the middle of the window, making it look like an elevator between floors. Would like to see the whole room in the window.(beyond you're control I realize.) Would like to see more of the street, but there is enough ther to give sense of depth.
Q: Did you happen upon the scene as it was, or did you go back for the balanced light?
    Excelent photo!
    Mark.
