It appears to be overly post-processed in the area of colour saturation and perhaps sharpness as well. Nevertheless, it is a very effective photo with a great centre of interest.

This is basically out of the camera. A slight crop, and shadow adjustment only.

My next suggestion would be to slightly brighten the front of the wagon and the bottom area including the shadow. The challenge is of course to keep it looking natural

cool shot. i think the subject fills the shot a little bit too much, theres not enough backdrop. also maybe a bit too much USM.

on the technical side of things though, awesome job. checking out the EXIF you did this on iso 80 at f5.6. pretty damned good DOF for f5.6 too.

I think Anbesol hit the nail on the head with the composition. I'm not really liking how much the subject fills the frame, either (yeah, I know... coming from the guy who shoots portraits from 12" away...) but I think the technical aspects of the shot are really nice. To be sure, your shots have been steadily improving since you started posting here, and this is a good example. This shot would make a nice stock photo even with the composition issue (which is pure opinion on our part).

Nice shot. I would actually crop out the bottom 1/6 to 1/4 of the photo. It seems to balance a little better like that.

Thanks everyone. This photo has been the source of oooohhh's and ah's all day. I took it for my uncle while we were hiking, and really thought it would suck, so didn't work at it at all. When I saw it, I felt differently.

It was printed today with variations on post work, and one came out that was a keeper. This version is cropped more than the print, and a screen doesn't do it justice at all.

yes, even though the max aperture is pretty weak, it does definitely rawk!
