I really like this shot! The layers of paint, rust & aged chrome make this a beauty!
I spotted an old pickup in a grown-up pasture today that I have noted for future possibilities.

The skinned paint, and pitted/rusted chrome gives a nice contrast to the almost new looking headlight poking out. Reminds me of an old man, whose body has begun to deteriorate, but still has a devilish twinkle in his eye. The composition and framing are wonderful, and the exposure looks to be just about perfect. Excellent photograph.

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment. I have driven past this car a thousand times and have wanted to photograph it for a long time.

    Thanks again.

I do like this image and it's colors. However, there's one thing that keeps it from being an excellent shot. The depth of field is just a little too shallow. I suspect that you had it all the way open -- which caused the grill to be slightly blured. I think the grill needs to be crisp as well.

Honestly, this is something I am guilty of. I'm either all the way open of completely closed with my f-stop.

Thanks for your input Todd. To be honest with you, I dont remember what settings I used to shoot this. I will have to look it up when I get home. It will be easy enuf to reshoot tho since it's only a mile or so from my house.

I think its great and you choose a lovely and unusual angle to shoot from. I have no problem here with any lack of DOF.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

Todd, I checked my settings on this photo and it was taken at f/8 @ 1/80 ISO 100
