    Old Machine

From the local burned factory. In the back of the building this old machine seems like its looking outside the window...something like a quiet witness of the fire that destroyed the building...

Felt it worked better in B/W...what you think?

    Re: Old Machine

I like it.....almost like a face looking as you said.
The problem I have is no detail in the blown out window. Wish you could have got something that was outside. Good place for hdr.

Certainly the details outside the window are not tack sharp and perfectly exposed, but in this case, they don't need to be. There's enough detail to let you know "something" is out there, without distracting your eye from the main subject - the machine (which is sharp and well exposed).

I like this one very much in B&W, it is stark and contrasty, and I think there's plenty to hold your attention besides the subject - from the reflected light on the ceiling to the junk on the floor to the button on the wall next to the window.

The only improvement I can think to suggest is to clone out that ductwork or whatever it is at the top of the left window.

What a "target rich" shooting spot.

Nice capture. I might have tryed an HDR shot here or a exposure to capture more of the highlights and then PP'd to bring up the shadows, I think the hint out the window would be even stronger.........but that's just another look at the same scene.

    Nice capture.
