    This old house

This was actually a grab shot today but when I opened it, I liked it more than I thought I would. Wish I'd taken a few more shots.

    I like it Frog.
Nice detail in the wood of the building. The side windows give it a real old church look.

What is the stuff on the porch? It's not that I don't like it, I'm just very curious.

    Thanks for posting

I like it but think you should skew the upper left and lower left taking the porch line just below the post and roof line out of the shot. Then crop the post out on the right. This might make for a good high contrast B&W.

    Thanks, Dave and Greg.
I was thinking somethin along those lines, Greg but your tips will help me work it.

Not sure what that stuff is on the porch but it represents garbage.

Oh! I forgot to tell you that door is about 2 feet tall.
Its a float from a local business that was in a parade today.

Frog, You are on a roll...At first I thought It was slightly crooked, but it's the house that's crooked. I too would like to see this in black and white. Nice capture!

A terrific building Frog. I think it looks a little soft all round and could do with a little pop. Is it lived in or is it a garden building?

I'm with the skew crowd, Frog. This looks like a great little spot to go back to, if you can. Very investigation worthy.

    Re: This old house

Frog - I see the potential, but I am not sure about the time of day (contrasty), the color shift in the shadows (bluish), and the way the wood shows at the bottom and at the top. The top one you can definitely crop out. The junk at the door entry, not sure what to say about it.....

    Re: This old house

Well, I thought this was the weirdest looking house I'd ever seen. Now, I can say it's the weirdest looking float I have ever seen. Really very interesting to look at, but I think opening up the crop some more would improve. Perhaps even something included to give reference to the size of the subject.
    Certainly caught our attention

BTW I like the color a lot but wished you were square to the subject so all the horizontal lines were straight.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: This old house

thanks GB1, Gary, MB1. As I mentioned it was just sort of a grab shot as I was walking by the float after the parade. I didn't think it had that much potential until I opeed it on my computer and then wished I had taken some more time and gone back for getter light.

Whoever put that thing together, sure did a good job. I never would have guessed unless you told us.
