    an old door knob

I took this a long while ago and every time I go to post it, I get distracted. Maybe for good reason...CC welcomed.

    Re: an old door knob

Nice find. If this is what the door alone looks like, would the actual house make a good picture?
I like the greenish mixed with the darker colors, i think if it was possible to get some kinda reflection in the windows it'd set it off.
But a good picture u got here.

Thanks Kem, This is a door to an old abandoned shed in a cemetery. At the time I went, I did not have a wide enough lens to capture it complete, so I got only a portion of it. Thanks for the comments.

    Re: an old door knob

Javier, Not sure here.. it's a worthy subject for sure, but the image seems super-sharpened or something as there seems to be a lot of unusual white reflections or what not. I think I would crop out the entire right side of the shot, only keeping part of the frame to the right of the handle. I'm also not sure about the green, which is of course some type of rust or mold.. but it looks just awful

As for what works, I think the handle and web is good stuff. A macro might have been nice to have this day. The contrast here works too.

I, on the contrary, would get closer. Instead of thinking of using a wide-angle, I'd try it with a macro lens

I would definitely get rid of everything on the right of the wood frame. The door knob is the star of the show and all of the glass just takes away from it.

G, I am not sure about the green either, but that is what the door looked like and I believe you and AE are on to something with a Macro shot. That was not even a thought in my head when I took it which tells me I need to open up my mind more.

Canon, thanks for the advice. Here are two more to see if I am heading in the right direction.

I like the crops - I don't quite know why but the top one is better for me. Nice job.

I like the last crop but the color treatment of the first. Nice find. It's a great subject.
