OK you ask for a post..

Here are some shots from my new Sony DSC H50. Boy the thing has more settings than a chicken farm.
These were shot at max size they show 3456x2592 72 dpi when loaded in Irfanview.
I reduced to desktop 800x600 150 dpi to post.
I welcome any and all comments suggestions ..... thanks in advance for looking.

Your sunset would be better, if the sun weren't so centered.
Next time, try off centering the sun.

The first bird would have been better if both legs were completely in the shot. Also getting eyeball level like bird #3. Plus boosting the saturation and contrast would have helped. Brian raises good points with the sunrise shot. Another element, ship, surfer, ect always helps. Try an find something to hang the sun over that is different or unique. Also invest in a ND grad and polarizer filter and you will be set. Nice first post.......Hang out here for awhile and you will be a pro before you know it.

The colors in your shots seem to be very pastel-ish which I think looks great. I agree pretty much with what others have suggested. I like the gull picture best. He would have been cool in the sunset.
