    Oh Please God

Moving on from my earlier post, does this maybe work better? Thanks to all of the pollution in Shanghai this was pretty tricky. Any thoughts would be greatly welcomed as always.

Why didn't they arrest you for taking a shot this beautiful?

I like the composition, focus and exposure. I love the colors.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Now that is to good - I think you should have yourself arrested as MB suggested.

Exccellent. I would hang this on my wall.

WOW. This shot is AWSOME. I really wish i could get a shot like this. The Splash of Red. the subtle blues and greens against the grey backround really pop out at me. The shape of this building is facinating, Freud would have had a field day with this, the Chinese and the Giant Phallus (my husbands opinion) when you study it a bit longer and get yoru mind out of the gutter it looks like the Eiffel Tower . the shot is awsome again. i was wondering about getting the building from a distance but I dont think it would have worked as well from a further distance, you would probly loose alot more of feel of the shot with a differnt perspective.

I agree with MB this is great. Nice work. Was there a lot of post processing to this? The lighting is perfect.

I thought it was "only with parental guidiance". You have handled the exposure successfully.

    Re: Oh Please God

MB1 - Thanks for your feedback, they were coming for me for sure! In actual fact, I was moved on 3 times before I could grab this shot!!

Roger - Coming from you that is a big compliment, thank you.

Armywife - I hadn't thought of the phallical suggestion that this image has, (pass my thanks on to your husband!) I did take a few shots from a further distance but the problem was the pollution / smog in the air, it was impossible to get a clear shot from any further away.

Greg - In short, yes, I sharpened the image a bit (particularly around the central column) and tidied up the OPG signs and lightened the brickwork a bit.

Don - Thanks for your comments, I put the OPG building in the composition on purpose to try and gain a sense of scale but am sure an image fully focused on the tower woud work.

Yoyo - Thanks for your input

Lori - Glad you like it!

    Herriot:

This is one of those shots that captures the eyeballs, requires much gazing just to absorb all that is there. I love this shot, the colors, the line/angle throughout..,very nicely done. I would be very proud of this shot and hope you are too! I think the OPG is essential to the composition and think you made the correct decision to leave it in.

Out of curosity, why does photography make the locals so nervous? I was in Russia and didn't have a problem until I took out the tripod. Then, officials previously standing by without a care came out of their shoes.

    Great job.
