An Oak with a smile?

Roger, I like the shadows of the leaves against the upper area of the Oak, and the dark bg. However, something just does not seem to be working well enough here, and I cannot really pin point the issue. I'm feeling that maybe stepping back some to allow more of the scene /Oak into the frame would improve. Also, I would like to see what this looked like in color, if you shot in color and would not mind showing.

I keep looking for various facial expressions on the tree but I have not found a smiley I'm afraid. Without that I too am having a problem or two with the overall composition. Perhaps it needs something thrown on the base of the stump, a pair of shoes or a happy couples clothes LOL to give it that little bit extra spice.

I see what you mean - this is one of my drive by's - parked in a queue waiting to turn left.

I saw the face in the bark and the smile which made me grab the camera and click.

There are rubbish bins and traffic to the right of the tree and my wing mirror which is cropped out.

Reason for putting it up is the face and I wasn't sure if it worked or not.
