    NY under fire

    Hi..
I took this on the 1st.
Is grainy because I still dealing with CVS...my bad.
    I took it with my NIKON F90X / 300mm A.11 S.15s 200iso.
I'm getting a D70 so I'm going to be able to check what I can get out of the same set up with digital.
    Comments all ways welcome.
    cheers

I think using a tripod would make this picture sharper. I like the building silhouette in the forground.

Nice pictures, but I have never seen that much dust in a scan before. There must be something going on with their machine.

I thought those were stars in teh sky.. not grain in the image lol...

I like the way the buildings are sillhoueted in the foreground but I do find teh crane on the right side to be distracting ... even over the fireworks.. and I find my eye wandering over to it.

Hey EC, overall the picture is pretty cool. It always bothers me when a photo is not a full frame whether it be vertical or horizontal. I'll say it again. DO not use CVS!!! You know, you can have all the best equipment and have the perfect shot but the biggest difference you can get from your photos is using quality processing.

You might try MPIX if you can stand the turn around time. I got some scans back today and was really disappointed...

    It's a cool image Lots of stars.This is typical for a 11 sec.exposure.
The stars come out to play. Great Idea.

    Re: NY under fire

This image has me confused. The buildings are nice and sharp but there is evidence that the camera moved significantly during the arial burst (like perhaps during 3 of the 15 seconds). As if a cable released had pulled on the camera.

That would explain the overlap of the fireworks superimposed in front of the buildings and the same overlap motion shown in the building windows.

    What's a Loupe for anyway?
