    Wink Numbers of the Beasts

A "leftover" from the Cowboy Series. Just jumped out at me while sorting files for final archiving. EOS 1v Fuji Film 70-200 2.8.

I would crop off the advertisements - whats the objective in that event - somebody on horse trying to get them together.

Funny, I like the ads. It shows how rodeos/shows work where there's a big gathering of people and even has a corporate sponsoring.

I like the photo for it has action. The only thing that I would have done is to add a little negative space before the galloping animals (over on the left). Otherwise, it is what it is and it is a cool shot. Might havee been nice to have a few humans in the background, but then again it might have ruined it (no way to know).

    Re: Numbers of the Beasts

This was from the Cowboy Series I did on Team Penning. It is a rodeo type contest event involving teams of riders cutting, driving, and corraling cattle by number and quantity in a fixed time period.

Thanks for each of your comments. The advertisements are intrinsic to this series and the nature of the sporting event. Not unlike the ads we get in everything else.

I had skipped over this image earlier as it wasn't what I was looking for at the time, but it jumped out later because of the numbers on the steers.

A little surprised no one has commented on the obvious regarding the title and the numbers? Thus the "winky"!

Great shot. Is that a reference to Iron Maidens " Number of the beast" one of my favourite songs,
