    Nothing Unusual UK 2009

Comments appreciated. We had heavy snowfall recently so I got out with my little compact for a change.

I love it Tom. The blowing snow adds to this and the slight incline is also very nice. I can see the effort in his face. The store front, the colours, everything just strengthens this shot. It reminds me of a shot Tuna took of a guy walking a slight up hill a while back as well. Nice one! You don't share many shots anymore!! I hope everything is well with you!

You caught the pedestrian at a good point and everything else just keeps me looking.

This gets a total  from me. Great story of a wintery day depicting the mature years of both the man and his town with the whimsy of a bygone time. Well done.

Thanks for posting, what a great photo! Looks like the old guy was walking at a nice clip. Great composition and nothing distracts me from the image.

Great Shot! The streaks left by the falling snow really add to this photo....

    Re: Nothing Unusual UK 2009

Tom, this is very good. It's all been said already. Your subject here and the man walking up the slope in the blowing snow is one that keeps me looking. I would have liked this already even without the person, but with him it adds another dimension of interest and story. A nitpik here would be I would like to have the man a little bit further up the walk so he is in front of the boarded up window allowing him to stand out stronger, but that is really nothing much.
    Great work Tom,

A cracker of a shot Tom .. I don't have anything to add to what has already been said. The shop title and the snow flurry makes it.

    Re: Nothing Unusual UK 2009

A very big thank you to all for your supportive comments on my image.

Leels; Everything is fine and thank you for asking. I have not put much up here in a long while. Sometimes I go (as I'm sure we all do) through long periods where I am not happy with my photography. I took on a very busy position in my club and ever since inspiration to get out and work with the camera seems to have diminished somewhat. I have decided not to put myself forward again this year for this job so hopefully I will get back and do what I like doing best. Best wishes to you.

Your image has drawn me in to examine every nook and cranny, starting with your hero leaning into the hill and the snow. Strictly controlled composition with brilliantly presented color palette. I could go on...

...and I will. You've captured a perfect exposure with detail everywhere including the snow. Sense of humor through your title and within the image. Thoroughly enjoyable.

    Re: Nothing Unusual UK 2009

Interesting shot. It is one of those that really shows the viewer what life's like in a particular area. I love the way the snow is blowing sideways (not so nice for him) and the overall clarity of the shot.. Those little PNSs can do OK sometimes.

I would prefer that there was just a little more in the photo to hold my interest, as it seems just a tad bit plain on the storefront, snow area, etc. Otherwise, excellent photo. Congrats on the sticky
