Chunk, to me this is a perfect example of what I'd call a fun photo. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece of photographic endeavor to provoke a great sense of humor and whimsey -- but then if art is to evoke emotion then this is art - humor is an emotion! I love it!

Chunk, I like this. It's not the type of shot that one needs to have a great sky, lighting colors etc. This scene is interesting and entertaining and you spotted a great subject ( signs) and I like that there are a couple of people in the scene as it lends to the feeling that these signs and very scene are in public view. ( might have really been funny with a person trying to climb out of a hole in the ice);) It reminds me of the type of thing you might see on The Tonight Show , or Conan when they do their skits of weird but true stuff.

This is one of those classic fun grab shots! There's no need for perfection or technical adjustments as this does one thing very well, it conveys a message in a undeniable way.

There's truth in the old say that truth is stranger than fiction and spontaneity is funnier than any script.

Thanks for all the replies. I grew up turning to the last page of every "LIFE" magazine I saw first, before looking at anything else. I wish they were still publishing so I could submit this one.
