    No title 5

    Just happened to come across a naked tree by the side of a trail on a kind of sunny day.

    I love the scene and your composition is very good. the sky is very heavy and dark and I would like it better if ther were not so much black in the sky.
    Overall a very good image.

    Overall it is pretty nice-2 points;

    The position of the road draws the viewer right out if the image.

    The clouds directly behind the tree seem to hide the tree a bit.

    I wonder if you could have moved to your left and pointed the camera more to the right to get the tree against the bare and darker sky and to have the road not lead the viewer directly out of the image.

    BTW I like the sky and this use of B&W. Did you convert a color image or shoot it B&W?
    No, I DON'T need that.

    I agree with the others, mostly. This is a nice composition, and the heavily darkened sky doesn't bother me. However, the darkness of the sky is uneven. Did you use a polarizer and a wide angle lens? If so, you need to be careful to make sure the polarization is even across the sky. I also agree that a darker background behind the tree would make it stand out more, but it's hard to tell if you could have done anything about that. Nice shot.

    Yep, I could have moved to the left, but I don't think it will solve the problem of the road-leading-the-viewer-out-of-the-image because the road is turning that direction regardless.

    Converted a color photo to b&w. There was one time when I shot film, I shot mainly b&w though. I'm happy that digital camera makes it so easy for me to get back to it.

    And I'm a sucker for dark sky

    Certainly.
